The Story of Ferdinand

Tuesday, March 06, 2012 ,

Eisley & her daddy have a special bedtime ritual. As with most toddlers, it includes bedtime stories.
Recently her favorite is The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf.
A classic.
It does my heart good to see them cuddle up together and read a book.
Eisley can now recite the story, too.
Sometimes she even acts it out.
This classic is one of my favorites.
Not only is it an endearing story about a pacifist little bull, the illustrations are clever and it tells a good story without being too wordy.
This book is even more special to me because, well:
It even made it through my childhood unmarked by crayons and without a single torn page. We put it up carefully every night when Eisley is done reading it.
These are the bits of parenting that I love.
Sharing a good, timeless story, then a hug and a kiss before bedtime.
